Assemble at KLIA. Depart to your 1st leg and transit until our connecting flight to Malaga or Madrid

MALAGA/MADRID - CORDOBA

After arrive at the airport, make own transfer to Cordoba, rest and freshen up. Later meet and join with the main group. There will then be time to freshen up before a short briefing about the tour followed by a short evening stroll in the city.

After breakfast, we will take a guided tour to Cordoba Mosque, one of the most important and largest masjids in its time. After taking lunch we take a walk through the old Jewish quarter and then across the old Roman bridge for a visit to a fantastic interactive Museum on Islamic Spain. Later, we will make our way to the archaeological site of Madinat al Zahra. The city built by the Caliph Abdul Rahman III. Here we see the Palace ruins and take a visit to the new exhibitions and museum. In the evening, we will be visiting local Spanish Muslim on their farm in AlModovar and enjoy halal traditional Spanish dinner!

CORDOBA – SEVILLE - GRANADA

After breakfast we will leave for Seville stopping on the way at the archaeological site of Madinat al Zahra. The city built by the Caliph Abdul Rahman III. Here we see the Palace ruins and take a visit to the new exhibitions and museum. We will then continue to Seville. Upon arrival we will take a guided visit to Seville’s historic center which will include the Royal palaces / Alcazar and gardens built for a Christian king in Islamic Architecture and its Giralda Tower, once the biggest Minaret in the world. It is said the Muezzin used to ride up on a horse to call the Azan. There will then be free time for shopping and to explore the city. In the evening we will make our way to Granada, the last Muslim Kingdom which held out for 250 years before the inevitable fall in 1492. Upon arrival we will check into the hotel for free time.

After breakfast there will be a lecture/presentation after which we will make our way to the Alhambra. Usually the highlight of the tour for many. Nominated a wonder of the world the visit to the Palaces, gardens and fort will leave you breathless. The visit to the Alhambra can take up to 4-5 hours. After this you will have free time to do some shopping and explore the Albaycin.

After breakfast there will be a lecture/presentation. There will then be free time before departing for the Alpujjara along the route of Nasrids. On the way we will stop at the old Muslim bridge and the Muslim fort/castle which is the location of one of the last stands made by the Muslims of Alpujjara. We will have a chance to interact with the local Muslim community while having dinner at a Muslim restaurant run by Spanish Muslim revert in Orgiva. We will then return back to Granada.

GRANADA –FARO / ALBUFEIRA

After breakfast, we leave Spain for the start of our Portuguese adventure. We will be driving through Huelva region which is famous for its beautiful landscapes of mountains and white villages. Entering Algarve region, drive directly to  Estoi, to see the beautiful Estoi Palace, which is now a luxury hotel. Later, continue to Faro/ Albufeira, the last stronghold of the Arabs  during the Reconquista, the city that is today the capital of Algarve. It comes as a surprise to many that much of Portugal once lived under Islamic rule for over 500 years. Faro has a very scenic old town, which is encircled by an ancient Moorish city wall. At the heart of the old town is the Sé cathedral and from the top of the clock tower there are wonderful views over the city and the Ria Formosa Natural Park. Other sights include the Museu Arqueológico, the City Hall and the gates for the city walls. Check in to hotel and free at own leisure afterward.

FARO - SILVES - LISBON

We travel to Silves, which was once the capital of the region during the Algarve’s Moorish era (700-1200). Remnants of this glorious past are seen throughout Silves and include the huge red brick castle that dominates the skyline and the city walls that surround the central square. See the stunning view over Silves from the hill which overlooks the town. From this vantage point there are delightful views of the town, with rolling countryside, the cooling waters of the river and the distinctively coloured castle rising high above the town.

Set off northwards to the city of Lisbon, our final destination in the tour. Lisbon offers a balmy climate and home to UNESCO-listed sites of historical and cultural significance. Drive directly to the city via modern Tagus Bridge and head directly to the capital. Hear the brief history of the city, proceed to the Central Mosque of Lisbon for or lunch and jama’ prayer. Later, make our way to Praca do Comercio, a commercial square with spectacular river view. Enjoy free time at this beautiful area. Late afternoon, check in to hotel and free at your own leisure.
Note: Lisbon's streets are filled with whimsy, romance, and vibrancy. Don't forget to look down as you stroll: ornate tilework, a Portuguese trademark, adorn a number of the city's sidewalks.

LISBON – SINTRA  DAY  TOUR

‘A visit to Lisbon is incomplete if you are not visiting Sintra’.

Travel a short 30 minutes to the foothills of Portugal’s Sintra Mountains, this historic town centre combines various architectural styles among with Gothic and Manueline elements. For our tour, we are going to visit two of Sintra most spectacular and popular architectures.

The Quinta de Regaleira - Quinta da Regaleira is a Neo-Manueline Palace is located near the historic centre of Sintra and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The palace is set in the romantic scenery of a fairy-tale verdant garden, with footpaths, grottos, lakes and hidden wells, shrouded with mysterious tales of hidden tunnels and secret societies.

Park and National Palace of Pena - Located in the Sintra hills, the Park and Palace of Pena are the fruit of King Ferdinand II's creative genius and the greatest expression of 19th-century romanticism in Portugal, denoting clear influences from the Manueline and Moorish styles of architecture. The palace was built in such a way as to be visible from any point in the park, which consists of a forest and luxuriant gardens with over five hundred different species of trees originating from the four corners of the earth. On day back to Lisbon, stop by at Azenhas do Mar to see beautiful coastal town with tiled facades and then return to Lisbon.

LISBON ‘THE AGE OF DISCOVERY TOUR – ISTANBUL – KUALA LUMPUR

Check out from hotel early in the morning and set out for Belém, the home of 16th-century navigators who propelled the Age of Discovery , where Vasco da Gama sailed into the Atlantic in 1497. After visits to Belém Tower, the Discovery Monument, and the Jerónimos Monastery, stop at one of Portugal's most famous pastry shops, Pasteis de Belém, a fixture of the neighborhood since 1834. Enjoy farewell lunch before proceed to the airport.  Check in around 1pm for our flight departing at 3.45pm.
